Can you see that Luke is clenching his fists in this paiting? He was told to stamp pine cone on the paper but what I see more is his hand.

The simplicity of this art makes it that much more pleasing to the eye. HIs concept and the structure he uses allows the viewer to see these in a new light rather than the same critique responses we are geared to.
